A Step Forward for Women

I know it's been forever since I said I would start this blog, but I've been busy, and lazy, and unsure of my own contribution, figuring my mom will probably be my only reader.

But after reading this article in the New York Times, I've decided that I need to start. These women are not lazy, and not too afraid to do something even if it all comes to nothing. The least I can do is to share their story.

Israeli and Palestinian Women Take a Rare Trip to the Beach

Rachel Corrie would be proud. Even though the occupation of Palestine continues, things are moving forward. Come to think of it, this kind of contented coexistence is probably what Israel and Palestine should be working towards, anyway. De-occupation of Israelis is just more displacement of citizens.

Now I know that it's a cinch for me, an armchair commentator, to say that the Israelis should "just do this," or that the Palestinians should "just do that." We'll see what happens.
